In 1949, Hoyt C. Butler and J. Edward Stowe founded a CPA firm in Gaston County, NC. Like many businesses of that day, it was built on personal service, professional excellence and a work ethic intensified by the hard times that were a not-so-distant memory. Today at Butler & Stowe our values are stronger than ever. We participate in the Peer Review Program mandated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and have received an "unqualified" report every time (in the financial accounting world, that's a terrific rating!). With three partners and a staff of 25-plus, we've grown to offer clients a variety of diversified services. The Charlotte Business Journal historically has ranked Butler & Stowe as one of the 25 largest public accounting firms in the Metrolina area. Still, we're small enough to remember our roots and honor them. We also care about our clients and their success.
